Active life on the island

It is simply amazing to wake up with the sounds of the waves slamming on the rocks, birds singing and the leaves of the palm trees moving in the breeze. This morning I stayed in bed 15 minutes longer just to enjoy all the sounds of my new life. After those extra 15 minutes I got up, ready to start my active life on this island.

After having breakfast on the veranda that looks out over the ocean, I decided to have a swim in the waterhole instead of the swimming pool. I figured that since the waterhole is approximately 25 meters long and wide I might as well do my daily laps there. The only difference is the temperature and color of the water. I have to say that I really enjoyed my swim; even though I swam for about a hour I felt so relaxed and refreshed when I climbed up the rocks to go back to my car.

After a nice shower at home I decided to check out the local boxing club. I wanted to join up with a gym, but they don’t have a proper gym here. They do however have a boxing club that has gym equipment like weights and weight-machines. They also have boxing classes that seem like a nice challenge for me. The boxing club has great equipment; I guess you could say it comes close to a full gym set-up except is has a big boxing ring in the middle and lots of different punch bags, etc. A nice guy (one of the boxing trainers) called Tony showed me around and explained how things worked around there. It all sounded and looked pretty good so I decided to join up and tomorrow I will have my first boxing session with Tony.
