Relaxing weekend

This weekend has been a quiet one. Yesterday I didn’t had to work, but I did end up going to the swimming pool. I felt like having a good swim and did about 3 kilometers in a hour. I was pretty tired from it, but it also felt very refreshing. I can understand that some people don’t find it much fun to swim lap after lap when they can do more exciting exercises, but for me it is heavenly. It is almost like meditation to have an empty mind and completely focus on your breath and strokes.

Russell was working and told me that if I wanted I could come for a swim after closing hours as long as I brought someone along. I was pretty surprised because at my previous job that was not allowed, but I guess since they are more relaxed here they don’t really care about that sort of stuff. I can swim whenever I want as long as I am not by myself - in case something happens to me - so there’s always someone who can help or get help. It is nice to keep in mind in case I make any friends in the hopefully near future.

Last night I snuggled up on the couch and watched the movie Borat. Oh my goodness, how funny is that movie? I was snorting tea out of my nose! Note to myself: Do not drink while watching funny movies!

Today was a relaxing day as well. When I woke up and had my breakfast on the balcony I was trying decide whether to go to the waterhole or go to the beach. It is so nice to have such a luxury problem. Since my balcony looks out over the ocean I decided to go to the beach. I brought my snorkeling gear again, because honestly I can’t get enough of snorkeling over the beautiful reef and see all the tropical fish. It is simply amazing to see the fish I am used to see in a fish tank in the open sea.

Sometimes I feel like pinching myself. Yes, I am finally living the life I want to.
