Sunday I was having an ‘off’ day. I had been dreaming of Michael and the dream was so vivid that it almost left me in tears when I discovered that he was not laying next to me when I woke up. Michael was my fiance. We were supposed to get married two years ago, but a fatal accident took him away from me. The day I heard the news was the day my world fell apart. I still miss him every day and find it still hard to talk about him. Lee is the only one here on the island who knows about Michael, all the others think that I am happily single.
Since I had such an overwhelming feeling of sadness I decided to go for a swim to clear my head. I went to the swimming pool and had a swim of three kilometers before I decided to go to the beach. On days like this I know it’s better for me to get out and do stuff, otherwise I just lay in bed all day being depressed. I ended up walking along the beach for ages.
I had come to a part of the beach I had never been before and all of the sudden something caught my eye. It was a beach shack that had a ‘For Sale’ sign on it. Out of curiosity I walked up to it and saw that it was deserted. So I had a peek through the windows to see what it looked like from the inside. It definitely needed work done to it, but the location was awesome. It was right on the beach. You could practically walk straight from the veranda onto the beach. I fell in love with it immediately.
I looked on the ‘For Sale’ sign again and decided to walk back to my car and drive up to the real estate to see if they had this property hanging in the window. When I got to the real estate I saw it hanging in the window and found out it had been for sale for a while. I don’t know why it hasn’t been snatched up yet. I know it’s not in the best condition, but it has big potential. The prize was not too bad either and in the back of my mind I already knew that I want to buy it. Monday afternoon I’ll be going straight from work to the real estate to see if I can do a viewing and get an inspection done to see if everything is structurally okay.
